Seems that the newer versions of

gt

CLI save the token to

~/.config/graphite/auth

, but the Mac Menu Bar app exclusively looks for it as

authToken

field within

~/.config/graphite/user_config

, so following the web instructions and "just set up the CLI!" doesn't actually authenticate the Menu Bar app. Workaround is to manually copy the authToken into the user_config and reboot Menu Bar app. Keywords in case anyone else runs into this and is searching: Mac, Signed Out,
