Apparently now the UI gets absolutely stuck and frozen when pasting from clipboard some content into a review comment being edited. Are you aware of this?

hey Dimas, we're not aware of this one. What was the nature of the content you were pasting, was it just text?
d
Hi Gary. Just pasting some small code snippet. The moment I try to place my cursor on top of the pasted text/code, my Graphite browser tab becomes unresponsive and my only option is closing it. This started to happen today. This is on Safari. It seems related to other minor issues like the one I have seen already reported of marking twice a new or a deleted line in code. Overall, meaning not to be rude, my impression s that lately changes in the UI seem to be pushed with thorough testing. For instance, I have also an issue I didn't report because is of not much importance to me, the badges informing of the number of PRs in a view stopped to be correct in all cases. I have been the whole morning with an indicator of an open PR in a project that has none open. Many small things that individually are not a big deal, but that looked at globally produce an unsatisfying experience.
p
gotcha, was the code snippet you pasted using the three backticks ` character?
d
Will need to check. Let me answer you later when at office.
I checked it: no backtick or suspicious character. Plain ext with some double quoted strings. Nothing that looks odd to me.
p
could you share an example of that and will try to reproduce it
d
This is the exact code I pasted
class CommandError(Exception):
exit_code: int
def __init__(self, message: str = "") -> None:
super().__init__(message)
def __str__(self) -> str:
message = super().__str__()
return f"[exit {self.exit_code}] {message}" if message else f"[exit {self.exit_code}]"
class InvalidOptionsError(CommandError):
exit_code = EXIT_INVALID_OPTIONS
class UndefinedEnvError(CommandError):
exit_code = EXIT_UNDEFINED_ENV
class CommandSpecificError(CommandError):
def __init__(self, exit_code: int, message: str = "") -> None:
if exit_code < COMMAND_SPECIFIC_MIN_EXIT_CODE:
raise ValueError(
f"command-specific exit codes must be >= {COMMAND_SPECIFIC_MIN_EXIT_CODE}, got {exit_code}"
)
self.exit_code = exit_code
super().__init__(message)

we've gotten a few other reports of this freezing on commenting, our team is actively investigating! Seems likely a regression from yesterday
d
Good! Thank you for the feedback!
p
We've reverted a change that likely root caused this. Apologies again for any disruption from it!
d
Thank you, Gary! Your fast response is what counts to me. No worries. No need to apologize. I will try again and let you know if it works.

Hi Gary. It is working for me. Thank you!
