Over the past weeks, I’ve noticed that the Graphite UI has become progressively slower. Loading even a moderately sized PR (around 20 files with relatively small changes) now takes roughly 10 seconds, and scrolling through the diffs is noticeably sluggish. This makes it increasingly difficult to work with any sense of agility. Tasks that used to feel smooth and efficient are now quite frustrating, and maintaining a reasonable pace during reviews has become challenging. Is the Graphite team aware of this issue? Reviewing PRs used to be a genuinely pleasant experience, but lately it has become rather cumbersome and, at times, discouraging. I would strongly encourage revisiting this area. The UI is a core part of the product, and when it becomes difficult to use, it significantly impacts the overall experience. Additionally, recent versions seem to block interaction with buttons and links until the page is fully loaded. This would be less of a concern if loading were fast, but waiting 10–15 seconds just to perform simple actions like adding a tag feels unnecessarily disruptive. Thank you in advance for taking a look at this.

Just to you or others on your team also? - Is this a regression? Is the problem new? - If you're having an issue with the CLI, please send us debug logs using

hey dimas, sorry for the user experiencing you're having. yes our team is aware of the loading issues and are currently working on a fix. if you're in tour mode, you could toggle it off by pressing the
T
on your keyboard. this may resolve some of the load time.
d
Thank you! Will try? How do I know if I am in tour mode? I press T, but I am unable to see any message indicating the mode I am setting, or any UI component indicating this.
p
at the end of the url, you'll see
?mode=tour
-- if it's off it won't be there.
d
I see. Thank you! In this case, I can confirm I am not in tour mode normally, as this is not the default in the UI. Therefore, my reported issue doesn't look like directly linked to this feature.
p
thanks! i'll relay that to the team and will keep you posted once i have any updates on this.
d
Nice. Thank you!
Hi ! Do you have any updates on this issue? We are seriously considering moving away from Graphite because the current performance has made code reviews extremely difficult to carry out at a reasonable pace. That would be unfortunate, as the platform has been very valuable to us, but the slowness has remained unchanged — and at times seems even worse — over the past days. Given how central the review workflow is to the overall experience, this does not feel like an issue that can be addressed leisurely. It has now been more than a week, and we still cannot perceive any meaningful improvement.
