โ˜๏ธ failure, but
git fetch origin main
works (prompts for yubikey auth), and a command like
gt ss
works (prompts for yubikey auth)

Will take a look! Do you know which version were you on before?
e
I was on
0.21.<something>
, this was flagged to me by a coworker who isnโ€™t sure what version they were previously on.
a
Have you run
gt user yubikey --enable
?
e
No, but after I do I have the same behavior just now with an extra reminder (from graphite)
a
Ok, looking into this now
๐Ÿ™Œ 1
We have a fix, working on re-releasing the CLI. Will post here when itโ€™s out!
e
Thank you! Iโ€™ll report back to my team
a
Just finished releasing
0.22.14
which has the fix. Also, we recommend yubikey users run
gt user yubikey --enable
so Graphite will prompt when you need to tap your key.
e
Thank you on behalf of the team!
๐Ÿ˜… is there any chance
gt user yubikey --enable
(or its modern equivalent) could also interact with the vscode extension to disable all the background git fetching it seems to do? I want to pitch the extension to folks (the drag and drop rebase logic is truly awesome), but I don't want everyone's yubikeys flashing at them... nor do I want to train folks to authenticate random requests.
j
@Jacob Gold @Alyssa Baum will be your experts here ๐Ÿ™‚
j
we don't do any background git fetching in the vscode extension currently
e
๐Ÿค” are you sure? For two of us when we have the extension running our Yubikeys blink quasi-nonstop, and when we disable it (but make no other changes to our environment) the blinking stops.
j
interesting, which version is this on?
ah, it must be the
git ls-remote
actually
โœ… 1
will look into that!

e
Quick note that we still see this - less frequent, but still a thing
Note prompted by:
also, do you have the graphite VS code extension? That can make the CLI less reliable (when using yubikeys)
which is a quote from our internal slack where someone is pointing out this issue ๐Ÿ˜
j
The short answer is that we haven't prioritized this yet because we've been focusing on more general updates to the extension, but we are going to fix this in the coming weeks. Sorry for the lack of updates
e
Thank you!
