If there’s not actually a benefit to this change, I suggest it just be reverted

My assumption was that its because if you squash and merge the PR description becomes a commit message

I wanted the change so I could have Vim recognize the file type as that for Git and apply my configurations. :) my original PR made the name configurable but we figured it would not be a negative impact to others.
