I am super interested in this too. Sapling was enticing when it was first announced but Graphite has been making some really solid improvements since then and I don’t know what Sapling’s been doing. I would love a good side by side comparison

This is great, thanks!

I am not a maintainer of Sapling so just a random guy with an opinion: but this seems a bit aggressive and disingenuous against Sapling
c
Hi @bk, thanks for your feedback. Feel free to DM me or @Pranathi Peri if you have specific feedback on the points we’ve listed! We spent a lot of time checking out both Sapling’s CLI and Reviewstack.
b
Eh I’d imagine your technical points are mostly accurate (though some are framed oddly) but like example:
Sapling is a Meta open source project that is not actively maintained to support the newest technologies and languages.
Seems misleading? Project is maintained
c
I think the key word here is “actively” but we can tighten up language here :) cc @Pranathi Peri

Project is getting commits every few days? Anyway I should probably stop haha, again not a maintainer 😆

Hey @bk!! Feel free to DM me any specific feedback that you have - always looking to improve our docs in any way possible

I too will say that although this article did a good job of outlining the benefits of Graphite and has reassured my decision to use it over Sapling in an upcoming project, surely there is something Sapling does that Graphite at least is trying to mimic. It can’t all be inferior in every aspect. I know it’s an article meant to convince people to use Graphite, but it might feel more genuine if you talk about what Sapling does well and why that is not as good a selling point as they might make it out to be, or something similar along those lines
