Upgrading Grails-React Profile Applications We have several Grails 3.X applications that use React, and we’re considering an upgrade. Given that Grails 6 and the Grails Forge CLI currently do not support the React Application Type, would it be advisable to upgrade to Grails 5.3.X instead? Alternatively, should we consider modernizing and rewriting the applications to run within NGINX considering the effort involved in upgrade could be significant?

I think the answer to the first question is no, but I don't understand the second question. Are you thinking that you want to either use NGINX or upgrade your Grails apps, but not both?

generally speaking i think you are going to want to go from Grails 3->5->6 anyway

What is the motivation for wanting to include 5 in the process?

I just felt it would be smaller stepping stones, you would know better than me. the version of spring boot and hibernate changes dramatically between 3 and 5. Overall tho, take @jeffscottbrown advice i would ~~
