ha ... so now we have to migrate to `.gradle.kts` ?

IDEA still has some problems with `projects` in kts, although this is in a pretty rare case that most people will not encounter: <https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/KTIJ-19585>

but definitely don't *expect* any code completion in groovy. at best the IDE only has an approximate understanding of their contents

I can confirm that from Kotlin DSL I have code completion
