nice. We've observed a pretty severe performance degradation in 7.5-rc-1 vs 7.4.2 (currently investigating with Gradle). I wonder if RC2 would be any better

AFAIK RC2 does not have any performance changes compared to RC1 as the investigation is still ongoing.

@tony I think most of it comes from porting the checkstyle tasks to use the worker api. And I raised that PR myself. So if you want to have significant performance improvement. do it yourself 😄 😛
