in the project where the convention plugins code is, or in the project where the convention plugin is applied?

yes. i always get a null back. I suspect it probably has something to do with the classloader heirarchy and that the class loader i’m getting with

this::class.java.classLoader

isn’t the one i really want.

I asked an either-or question. Yes is not an acceptible answer as the question was not "yes or no" 😉
