🎉 Gradle 9.8.0-rc-2 is out! docs.gradle.org/9.8.0-rc-2/release-notes.html

@Laura Kassovic the link is to the user guide, not the release notes https://docs.gradle.org/9.8.0-rc-2/release-notes.html

The inline code style has a white background in dark mode which is a little odd

Thanks @Adam, I updated the link. A bit of copy-pasta.

could you make it consistent with the userguide? it's much less stark looking 😄

On it!

the maven mirrors feature looks incredibly useful to me 👀 I was doing something kinda ugly with an init script that technically works but was not amazing to look at

This one was overdue, especially since blog.gradle.org/maven-central-mirror

we've had one for a very long time internally but it required all builds to opt-in to using it and not all of them have because there was no feature like this 😄 glad its a thing now
