docs.gradle.org/current/…/depends-on.html The link is broken for the types of objects
See here for a description of the types of objects which can be used as task dependencies.

You should probably open a bug ticket about it. In the JavaDoc the link works fine. But it seems in the Kotlin DSL doc the anchor the link points to is not created, and the file is a different one too as there is no
Task.html
. Or maybe this is a Dokka shortcoming which produces those docs. 🤷‍♂️

I believe it's not only the anchor, it's the wrong html filename it should be this one I guess: docs.gradle.org/current/…/index.html

Yes, I edited my comment already before your latest reply :-)

I guess Dokka is also run over the Java files and also transforms the JavaDoc into Dokka output and there the links do not work like they are for JavaDoc. Neither the anchor is there, nor the link points to the right file. And even if it would work in-file, I guess latest the link on docs.gradle.org/current/…/create.html would still make problems as it points from
TaskContainer
to
./Task.html#dependencies
. Maybe Dokka is just not prepared for having custom manual linking. 🤷‍♂️ I have no experience with Dokka or how Gradle calls it for those Java-written APIs.
I guess optimally the build process should also contain some validation task that ensures links are working, or at least non-fully-qualified links.
