And why does `release nightly` point to a commit (<https://github.com/gradle/gradle/commit/fa8474b1def52d2cf55c2cd4bcb98ff737e2d09c|fa8474b1def52d2cf55c2cd4bcb98ff737e2d09c>) that is not on master?

We merge release branch into master every day, but some hiccups happen from time to time. The commit will likely be in master on Monday.

Thanks! My question was more the opposite as I wanted <https://github.com/gradle/gradle/pull/34540|a fix that was on master> but it all makes sense. It'll be in 9.4.0  then and I'll wait for the next `nightly`
