I don't know how to interpret this
Copy code
./gradlew root r2 --task-graph
what do
root
and
r2
mean here?
c
I'm not in proximity to a computer rn, but I think I got it: •
root
should be clear from the example: it is the task
:root
in the sample output •
r2
is short for
:root2
that is also in the output
t
ok... I thought that might be the case but some more narrative would be useful.

Is the console colored only the command line? Possible to have it in gradle.properties?
c
@Eug You can also set it using
org.gradle.console
in
gradle.properties
see https://docs.gradle.org/current/userguide/build_environment.html#gradle_properties_reference

I had to remind myself once again how to interpret this. I strongly suggest someone rewrite those docs to reference actual tasks that build maintainers might be familiar with, like
jar
,
classes
, etc
the docs as they exist have all the problems of "foo" and "bar" without the advantage that programmers are at least familiar with "foo" and "bar" as nonsense stand-in words
I'm pretty sure I'm not getting the full task graph. I guess it cuts it off after a certain depth? is that configurable?

It should produce the full graph. The command takes data directly from the execution plan. If you find a scenario where this is not true, please open an issue in the gradle repo.
