Thanks for the suggestion. That worked wonders, but unfortunately has too many restrictions that would require too much refactoring in order to work in my case (eg. not using Project objects at execution time)

Maybe not as instant solution, but strongly consider it. CC becomes a stable feature with Gradle 8 (hopefully) and then also all tasks within a project can run in parallel if they do not have an ordering constraint.
