FYI, as announced in <https://blog.gradle.org/portal-jcenter-impact|our blog post>, the Gradle Plugin Portal is now proxying Maven Central instead of JCenter.

Somewhat of a niche question but would it be possible to only register the metadata in the Gradle portal but keep hosting the jar in maven central? Would allow us to benefit from Gradle Portal SEO and discoverability while consolidating the download stats in MavenCentral

Can you file a feature request for this on <https://github.com/gradle/plugin-portal-requests/issues> ?

Note that I am not saying we should or would do this. But having an issue will help trigger the conversation and get a proper answer
