Hello all, today I have been trying this guide to get Gradle updated and be able to launch my mobile project. I have not been able, and have run into SO many errors, especially errors about plugins. A hand on getting this done would be really appreciated.

Maybe some flutter-centric community makes more sense. But if you have specific Gradle problems, feel free to ask concrete questions in the appropriate channels. This channel is not appropriate, as your question has nothing to do with the channel topic. Please delete your question here and ask in a more appropriate channel like #CJYS1DAP5 or #CAHSN3LDN. 😉

Thank you! I appreciate your guidance!

@Mario Mora I see that you are not the first person with such off-topic on this channel. May I ask why you thought that this channel is appropriate for it? Maybe something with naming makes it confusing
v
@Mario Mora can contradict, but from my experience - also with other similar communities - many people do not read server or channel topics, but merely the name. And if you have a failed build that sent you to
/help
which sent you here you might not be aware of the "Declarative Gradle" project, so the name does not have a special meaning in your mind but is just about Gradle and maybe using it declaratively which is a good thing over the last years already even without that project.

Well guys, it's a good thing you're researching. To give you an answer @Andrey Mishchenko, in my particular case I was looking for an error (at least in my very basic understanding of the tool) related to Declarative Gradle, hence a section called "declarative-gradle" seemed fit at first. In retrospective, it would've been better to check other channels first, but the name was a bait for me and I took that.

Ah, yeah, that guide is explicitly talking about declarative approach vs. imperative approach, which is exactly what I meant with my last sentence. It is just unlucky that the project is also called "declarative gradle" should have been "strictly enforced new even more declarative gradle dsl" 😄

Why is naming always the hardest part in software projects? 😄
