You need to also include the firebase bom in the configuration where you define the dependency to that
org.company:internal-lib-android
library. From the error message it seems to be something like
mtboatDevDebug
, not implementation.
v
But if including the dependency with version on
implementation
, then the platform he included on
implementation
should also have worked, shouldn't it @Niels Doucet?
n
that's an interesting point šŸ¤” Perhaps the output of
./gradlew :my_project:dependencyInsight --configuration mtboatDevDebugCompileClasspath --dependency com.google.firebase:firebase-core
might give some more information?
šŸ‘ 1
v
Or optimally a build
--scan
j
That gave me
Cannot locate tasks that match ':my_project:dependencyInsight' as project 'my_project' not found in root project 'rootProject'. Some candidates are: 'my_project'.
When I try with
--scan
it doesn’t work with email to open the report
I tried again with insight:
> Task :my_project:dependencyInsight
com.google.firebase:firebase-core: FAILED
   Failures:
      - Could not find com.google.firebase:firebase-core:.

com.google.firebase:firebase-core FAILED
+--- mtboatDevDebugCompileClasspath
\--- org.company:internal-lib-android:1.0.0
     +--- mtboatDevDebugCompileClasspath (requested org.companyt:internal-lib-android:{strictly 1.0.0})
     \--- project :internalLibIntegrationModule
          \--- mtboatDevDebugCompileClasspath

(*) - Indicates repeated occurrences of a transitive dependency subtree. Gradle expands transitive dependency subtrees only once per project; repeat occurrences only display the root of the subtree, followed by this annotation.
v
When I try with
--scan
I don’t receive the email to open the report
Can you share the link nevertheless?
j
it worked now actually
v
Because I opened it and thus activated it šŸ™‚

If you look inside the BOM, you see that the BOM does not include a version for
firebase-core
j
oh ok, it would be nice if this kind of thing could be check somehow by gradle, like ā€œthis library isn’t part of the BoMā€. I have no idea if it’s doable though šŸ˜…
v
It does, it tells you it has no version
Also it does not exist
j
The
firebase-core
library is deprecated and no further versions will be released. This SDK included the Firebase SDK for Google Analytics.
That’s probably why
v
firebase-core is just not a thing anymore
Latest is 21.1.1
j
yes I just saw that, I guess I have to ask for an update of the library my project use then, good luck to me with that
Thanks for the help! (again)
