You will practically always have a daemon anyway. Even with

--no-daemon

you get a one-off daemon that is quit after the build finished in most cases, unless you take special measures to make the Gradle CLI process already suitable as daemon by setting necessary heap parameters and since Gradle 8 also the instrumentation agent unless you disable it which you better not do.
