it only works with JVM test suites which only works with the Java ecosystem plugin, neither of which are compatible with Android
j
Yeah, but my question is if I apply the plugin in an Android or Kotlin Multiplaform project. Will the project work? I can run all tests, assemble, etc? Or does it fail?
e
try it and see. I expect it will not break anything immediately since it reacts to registrations which won't happen, but I don't know.
j
Reports not being aggregated can be fixed manually easily (I think)
e
you'd have to set up publishing the reports in the same way the plugin does, it's not that easy
j
I was thinking I was just to wire
Test
or
TestReport
tasks from Android and Kotlin with the next snippet somehow.
Copy code
reporting {
    reports {
        val testAggregateTestReport by creating(AggregateTestReport::class) {
            testType = TestSuiteType.UNIT_TEST
        }
    }
}

That snippet is at least one part. The other question is, whether the individual test results are published with the necessary attributes. But would also not too problematic.
j
do you know any public sample doing that?
v
No, but I did practically the same last week for the JaCoCo report aggregation plugin to get an aggregated report over all test types.
