Depends on where and how you use it.
asPath
is on
FileCollection
. So if you need it in a task action you could for example have a configurable file collection as input files and then in that use
asPath
. If you need it right away at configuration time as String, you could just use
.files
to make the files be present first. Heavily depends on the details.
That's the issue I want to fix: Avoid the need to build that project manually.

Yeah, well, the easy but dirty solution is to add
dependsOn(configurations.schema)
.

The cleaner solution would be to properly declare inputs and outputs if possible, so that the task also has a chance of being up to date or cacheable.
