it looks like they haven't published a <https://docs.gradle.org/current/userguide/plugins.html#sec:plugin_markers> properly

okay so it possible for the plugin to be not hosted on the gradle portal? just needs to be configured properly?

if you add
```pluginManagement {
    repositories {
        mavenCentral()
        gradlePluginPortal()
    }

    resolutionStrategy {
        eachPlugin {
            if (requested.id.id == "com.dynatrace.instrumentation.module") useModule("com.dynatrace.tools.android:gradle-plugin:${requested.version}")
        }
    }
}```
to `settings.gradle.kts`, then
```plugins {
    id("com.dynatrace.instrumentation.module") version "8.279.1.1002"
}```
will work in `build.gradle.kts` as if the marker were published

as documented at <https://docs.gradle.org/current/userguide/plugins.html#sec:plugin_resolution_rules>

And report a bug that they should publish the marker.
It does not need to be published on the plugin portal, maven central is fine.
That just makes it less discoverable for people searching on the plugin portal, but it will nevertheless work without the manual mapping then.
