If it were a constant, the input annotation would be useless, yes. But the point is, that it is configurable and wireable. All tasks and extensions better have `Property`s for configurable things, as you can then wire a property to a provider and get the value as late as possible, so that a consumer can set the value even after the wiring and the configured value is taken. And as it is configurable and an input to the task, it should also be annotated properly. Actually it is highly questionable to have just the diretory name as string and

@Input

, usually you want it as

DirectoryProperty

and

@InputFiles

as most probably the files are the actual input, not just the name of the directory, but that depends on the task of course.
