Maybe Slack thinks those are still "unread"

Try to scroll until the end, or declare them forcibly as read and then check again

thanks for the reply.  will see if there is some kind of "local pin".  I have tried to make sure it was "read".

I think if that is the case there should also be an unread marker above the message

What if you check with a different client?
web version or mobile version for example
