That's not Gradle, but standard Java stacktrace rendering.
Iirc the "xxx more" are part of the cause and thus skipped in the upper one.

argh figured that may be the case, I guess there might be some magical JVM argument to not truncate stacktraces

ah but there should be no more 'caused by' in those traces I guess

Not that I know of.
Maybe I mixed it up and the lines are in the stacktrace above.

Just search for the last line that is shown and you should fine where the remainig lines are shown
