I guess you should open a new issue with that. This is a community Slack. While it happens that Gradle folks are looking here, your chances are probably better if you open an issue on GitHub.

sure.. i will go ahead and do that... but how would i know if it's an issue with my code or if it's a gradle issue

I've never seen that error and have no idea what it really means. But actually I'd wonder if it is caused by your code and would almost bet on a Gradle bug. :slightly_smiling_face:

<@URQ797WRW> - mean while i am trying with 8.2.1 - let me see if upgrading resolves the issue.

<@URQ797WRW> - thanks for your suggestion. Strangely 8.2.1 also did not help.. but an accidental system (windows) restart fixed it.  cool :-)

Then probably a daemon restart would have worked too
