You don't even need caching, they will already be up-to-date

But yeah, if you run a cacheable task with the same inputs and the cache has an entry for it, the cached output will be reused. That's the point of the task output cache.

Not sure what you mean by "flavor type system" though.
But as long as it does not influence the task inputs, it should be fine.
