i’ve always set IntelliJ to external changes, which avoids reloading scripts when they are edited in IntelliJ. I know your pain - ridiculous live-reload stuff that doesn’t know when you are done your changes.

Hm It's funny because I have it set to that setting. Makes me wonder if something confuses it, like the vim plugin...or maybe it isn't refreshing the setting right

ah yea, could be the vim plugin. haven’t used that myself. it is the right setting - perhaps the vim stuff is considered “external”.
