Meetup details: 25th September, 6PM to 10PM, Bangalore. Everyone must demo a project. 5 minutes each, including Q&A. Private and invite-only event. But everyone in this channel is pre-invited (must demo though). Capacity is 25 people max. To confirm your spot, please DM me your phone #. I'll add you to a whatsapp group. Please refer people who are building things related to FutureOfCoding themes (but it's probably best not to broadcast). DM me their phone # so that I can invite them. FWIW, need all of us to be proactive on reaching out to other FOC hackers because getting 25 people who can demo is not going to be easy, even for Bangalore. šŸ™‚

Oh a little late but this is the small app built during the session using the Remix Studio node/wire editor. Couldn't quite finish it during the 3 minute lighting demo šŸ˜‚ but here it is as intended. It is a little tool to say, "Hi I'm here", or "I'm raising my hand": https://remix.app/event/focjam (ps: It should load as a native app clip if you're on iOS, I'm not, so I can neither confirm nor deny...) The structure: • the runtime is housed in a webcomponent, and can run on web, in an appclip, in our native app, or as an embed anywhere you can stick a webcomponent • the "app" is a .remix executable, packaged from the visual code you saw in the demo • the interactions are brokered via a cloud service hosting agents (ok, API endpoints) also built visually and installed on cloud via a .remix file • Liveness comes from server sent events, a native primitive in our visual programming language Will share a build video separately on #CCL5VVBAN

    • transitioned back to #CBC968C1M and back to #C05V6D72U1K come May • built a small-medium event management solution as a home-cooked meal for a 180 person event that ran this week: ā—¦ built 100% using visual programming on in Remix Studio (our vis prog IDE) ā—¦ less than 10 lines of simple functions in textual code in the entire thing, mostly around working with dates & date comparisons (e.g. has an event session started?) ā—¦ works off cloud stored data accessed via custom "API endpoints" (we call them "agents') also developed in visual code ā—¦ will make it more re-usable so we can try it out for future meetups when I have some time for refactoring/bikeshedding šŸ¤¦šŸ½ but jury is out on how much a home cooked meal should be recycled... • trying to figure out the mysterious & magical logic behind how my 8-month daughter old operates...

I've been mostly heads down in client work: some good-old API migration from rails to a runs-on-the-JVM-microservice. Not much new on the spreadsheets front. Most interestingly, I've been trying to use cline/aider heavily for regular work and it's been greatly successful. Also been finding MCP + claude desktop useful. (I should sit down and make notes on what workflows work well one of these days).

Went for a five day trip to Himachal (Mcleodganj, Bir Billing and Tirthan Valley), did some trekking in 3ft snow and paragliding there. Starting a UX bootcamp this weekend.
