I'll be visiting Berlin from Wed 26th June to Sat 29th, and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in grabbing a beer or going for a lunch or something? Could chat about topics like design tools and AI, creative coding, automated design tools, for example. Also interested in any suggestions on what to do or see!

Dunno how welcome filthy capitalism is here but I kind of consider where I am working a FoC startup in some ways, and its in Berlin, and its hiring for a Front end/ full stack mid-level. Its a ycombinator. Its a great opportunity, we don't hire much as everyone is happy. We have been doing very well and fast becoming the main international player in credit decisioning (admittedly slightly yawn industry). The <https://taktile.com/|website> is (deliberately) bland but the actual product is an advanced amalgamation of data/IDE/Decision Engine so its a rare combo of market, people and product.

Its a multiplayer low code environment that speaks python, so there are code escape hatches in everywhere, and the main canvas is node and wire. We build and  host the decision engine. Its over fitted to finance, so it connects to Experian/Schufa and suchlike out of the box... and it is DATA aware, so imagine combining IDE with data warehouse. Absolutely great uptake in the industry, I started before the product launch and the growth trajectory is pretty much ideal for a B2B product, its got fit for sure, now we consider building sideways as the core product is kind of generic. DM me if you are interested. If you are senior we will consider too, but we are a bit over stacked in seniors really so ideally we get someone who is demonstrably great but inexperienced and who is hungry to level up.

Actually been putting something together like this for Berlin but focused on alt computing, what kind of venue are you using? i'm trying to find a space that allows beer + pizza, but has a projector and doesn't cost any money. i'd host it in my apartment but i'm way outside the city

Hey! We haven't 100% locked down the venue, but it's an office, that makes some space available to student groups. One of the students arranged for us to use it. We're doing it on a Saturday afternoon though so I wasn't planning on beer &amp; food, although I think we could probably do it…

Nice, yeah I might try writing some universities to see if I can use a room without being a student.

To me, alternative computing is using/building systems that are different from what we have currently (my experience on Linux has gone virtually unaltered for the last 20 years).  Everything from scuttlebutt, to bare metal small talk, non-Unixy operating systems, Green Arrays/Mill computing, VLIW, small scale chip fab.  Maybe trying to avoid AI right now, the hype has produced too much kipple to sift through.
