Am I eligible for free YNAB if I do not commit to using it?
Unfortunately, I currently spend more than I make. B"H I deal with a very small amount of money and I am not in debt but money is slowly running out in my bank accounts. I am not a very organized person (part of the problem). I am very much interested in trying YNAB, and from the questions and answers I've seen posted here, YNAB sounds like it has a really clever method of budgeting. I am just not yet ready to commit to using it.

When you are ready to commit, we have a license with your name on it!

OK 😀 That answers it, thanks!

FYI, I just started using it, even with spending more than I make (that's part of why I want to use it), and also with being someone who has a very hard time with organization (also part of the problem here 😄 ). I don't think those are automatically non-starters, otherwise the overlap between people who need to use YNAB and people who are able to use YNAB would be pretty small

and @great-appointment-99249 how are you keeping up? IS YNAB helping you? Are you using it well? do you find it very hard to keep ynab up to date?

I’m not a very organized person and ynab has helped me a lot. It’s best to use if you really categorize all your transactions into useful categories, but even if you go more general and don’t check it daily, the basic idea of not spending money that you don’t have is deeply ingrained into ynab, and doesn’t take being an organized person to set that up

Even literally sitting down at the end of the month and categorizing 50 transactions, at the very least will make it clear to you how much you’re spending, instead of having zero clarity at all
