Thoughts on this post? I don't really understand the "guilt" of budgeting but I can also see it's not necessary to nitpick on details when you're making that amount

I only believe budgeting is helpful if it helps you change your behavior and achieve a goal. If it does neither, it's just a waste of time.

I guess the question is could you be doing more than you realize with proper budgeting
but I agree to your point

What if you don't need to be doing more than you realize though?

There's always more you can theoretically do but I agree it shouldn't come at the cost of stress/guilt
Ultimately the post is a little vague about the guilt
If he's stressing bc he budgeted X for groceries and is going over that budget I agree he shouldn't be stressing abotu that

I think the stress is similar to that of weight loss. Counting calories can become extremely negative on your mental health. But at the end of the day, if you don't create a calorie deficit, then you won't be successful in your goal. So if budgets trigger negative emotional health, we need to find a way to lower spending bederech agav. Like just maybe switching to a debit card with a limit so you don't need to manually budget.

Ya it's not clear to me, it sounds like the subject is saving enough for their goals. Without any specifics I guess I'd just take it that the subject is saving enough and is just budgeting to be a little leaner but the stress isn't worth it.
