01/19/2024, 2:49 AMHow should I handle monthly transfers to envelope style savings accounts on YNAB? I.e. I have monthly transfers from checking to multiple Capital One savings accounts that are nicknamed 'Yom Tov,' 'Car maintenance', etc. Will YNAB recognize that as an expense / outflow, or just as an internal movement of funds?

01/19/2024, 3:20 AMIt's just an internal transfer. You'll have to manually move the funds into the Yom Tov category yourself.

01/19/2024, 3:25 AMynab categories serve as your envelopes. doesn't matter where the money actually is. it can all live in 1 account. you'd check ynab to see what you've allocated toward an expense/what you can afford. not the account balance.
