Mint.com question: I want to have 2 budgets for my car. One is a monthly gas budget, and the other is a yearly car budget (oil change, parking, tickets, etc.). So I created 2 budgets, one for Auto & Transport (yearly) and one for Gas & Fuel (monthly). However all my expenses that are categorized as Gas & Fuel get itemized twice in my budgets - one in each bucket. Is there any way to get around this?

This is an example of why mint.com only does retroactive categorization and not budgeting... You need to create two separate categories for these two separate "budgets" in mint I believe to get the desired behavior.

Hmm... interesting. Thanks for the explanation

No problem. I think you'll find YNAB or everydollar to be better tools for what you are trying to accomplish

I looked at ynab a few months back and was so soverwhelmed. Does frum.finanace have a tutorial on how to use it?

We don't have a specific one, but there are hundreds of videos here and a walkthrough guide you can use. Also lots of us here are happy to answer questions 🙂 if this landing page is overwhelming let me know. It might be time for a frum.finance tutorial https://www.ynab.com/ultimate-get-started-guide/
