Hi all, we had a baby in May 2024 (mazel tov!) and of the various bills from various providers, apparently I forgot to pay the anasthesiologist bill? It went to collections in August, I kinda ignored it, and last week it apparently went to civil court? They're asking the original $1600 and change, plus $60 in court fees. Question: any suggestions about offering a settlement? For example, my wife is a playgroup morah making $400/week, and I'm currently between W2 jobs (I'll be fine B"H) - would that help? If so, any recommendations on how to present that - personally, through an attorney, and/or how to phrase it? I did get a suggestion today that, at the collections phase, I should have asked them to "prove it" which apparently automatically stops collections? Anyway. Thanks!

Redeem your points as cash, separately, instead of using them at Amazon checkout time! Target Redcard doesn't do it like this, thankfully. I am from the UK and imyH coming to Lakewood with my 2 young children for a wedding at the end of august. i have never been to lakewood before and do not know america well! ideally once we are flying in and taking off work, we would love to come for an extra week for a vacation. I have no idea where to look that will have stuff for the kids (1 year old and 7 year old) and have access to kosher food. we are basic , we dont need restaurants and the kids are happy with a park/pool/zoo simple activities. ideally somewhere drive-able from lakewood to stay for 1 week, out of the city (and not another flight) and that is on the cheaper end. would be so grateful for ideas thank you!!
