My name is Pesach Gelfand and I love this idea and I hope to help out as much as I can to make it work out. I think most people may be afraid to handle their own investments and may need a service that handles it for them. Or at least we should advise people what stocks or etfs or indexes they should be considering for investing. And along with those choices a risk level associated with each. Anyway, that's my 2 cents and I'm open to discussing it.

B”H in all our sessions we give everyone a customized financial plan which includes what accounts to utilize and what their asset allocation and ETFs should be. Then we checkin for rebalancing and reevaluation as life changes. Sounds like you are describing the exact service we built!

That's awesome, how do you promote this currently? I've recently saw someone came to our shul giving a speech about it,  I wasn't able to make it,  but it seemed like a good way to get people interested in it.

they gave a speech about what? We are currently not doing any marketing as we build up our funding, team, and technology to be able to scale. Right now we are word of mouth and a little linkedin

as far as I know we are the only chesed organization doing financial planning, the others are doing budgeting.

The promo didn't mention that they are doing it for free so I'm assuming they find a way to help you invest and make money from it

There is for sure a need for this and I would also work on getting haskomas from every type of community for this

Sure. Currently AFSP (Annual Filing Season Program) and CAA (Certifying Acceptance Agent for ITIN applications) certified if you know what that is.
I can currently represent my own clients before the IRS in audits; though EA, CPA or JD is required to represent people whom I didn't prepare the tax return in question.

interesting, don't most tax preparers not actually defend their clients in an audit or is that only when it needs to go to tax court?

Some tax preparers don't want to deal with audits at all, and refer people elsewhere, but most will defend clients going through an audit as another service they provide.
If it's a really high level case and needs to go to tax court, they would need a tax attorney or a USTCP certified person (US Tax Court Practitioner).
