With Go 1.22 EOL several months ago (https://endoflife.date/go) and not receiving security updates any more, would it be possible to prioritize upgrading Flyte to build on Go 1.23 (or ideally 1.24). The PR got started at https://github.com/flyteorg/flyte/pull/6249 a while back by @clean-glass-36808 but stalled out due to mockery issues. Our internal scanners are starting to flag things more frequently in the Flyte stack (including flytectl), so it's becoming a larger issue on our side. I can lend a hand too -- I just want to make sure the PR can be reviewed / merged promptly as I think there's going to be a potential for merge conflicts if other PRs get priority.

Is there any interest in moving away from gorm schema auto migrations? I feel like the auto migrations give you very little control over how the migration is performed and right now it happens in-band during application startup which could result in a crash loop if migrations take too long.

I have a first draft for adding support for task caching TTLs: https://github.com/flyteorg/flyte/pull/6451 Not the prettiest implementation but not sure if there is a better way. Would appreciate any feedback

Hello contributors: A few initiatives are in progress to try to handle the Issues/PR backlog in both flyte and flytekit repos: 1. A stale bot that's going through open Issues and PRs with the following criteria: a. Issues inactive for 90+ days b. Feature requests inactive for 270 days+ c. PRs open, inactive and not ready for review for 270+days 2. Configured triage-party to analyze the backlog. The instance is available here for anyone to take a look. The first time you open it, it populates the cache pulling from a DB. Any of you Go wizards are welcome to improve its responsiveness 🙂 How does it work? The config is here and relies significantly on labels. I've summarized the labels in this doc. ➡️ If you have triage permissions or higher, you're welcome to help us label open issues/PRs accordingly, or at least label your own work to feed this tool. Any question let us know!

Hi Contributors, Thank you for addressing this issue in flytekit: https://github.com/flyteorg/flyte/issues/6471. @glamorous-carpet-83516 Is it possible to backport this fix to
    flytekit 1.14
and release it? Please let me know if there's anything I can help with to facilitate this. cc @full-toddler-5766

    Possible stupid question
    Copy code
    ~/code/flytekit git:[issue-6463] make setup
    # pip 22.1 broke pip-tools: <https://github.com/jazzband/pip-tools/issues/1617>
    python -m pip install -U pip-tools setuptools wheel "pip>=22.0.3,!=22.1"
    /bin/sh: python: command not found
    make: *** [install-piptools] Error 127
    Are folks just expected to
    alias python=python3
    ?

Hi @freezing-airport-6809 first of all, huge congratulations to the team for the upcoming 2.0 release for Flyte. Will Flyte 2.0 architecture still be built on top of Kubernetes?

Since the Flyte docs (or some of them) have moved to the Union docs repo should we removing them from the Flyte repo and replacing them with READMEs to the location of the new docs? I'm not sure contributors understand some of the docs are in a different repo

Looking for some eyes on this PR from some of the Union folks: https://github.com/flyteorg/flyte/pull/6521 I think there is bug in propeller that leads to significant amounts of wasted/redundant workflow store updates (~60% of writes at our scale). Depending on how folks use Flyte this could significantly reduce k8s API calls which is a factor in scaling Flyte.

Hi contributors! I'm excited to join the Flyte community and start contributing. I've opened my first issue proposing a new flytekit plugin for Apache Beam, which I plan to start working on soon. Would appreciate any initial feedback or guidance from the maintainers or community: 👉 https://github.com/flyteorg/flyte/issues/6539 Looking forward to collaborating!

I've got a handful of small Helm related pull requests as we continue to productionize Flyte. Would appreciate any reviews • https://github.com/flyteorg/flyte/pull/6543 (support for plumbing otel config) • https://github.com/flyteorg/flyte/pull/6558 (allow for flyte scheduler service monitor, so metrics can be exposed) • https://github.com/flyteorg/flyte/pull/6564 (removing unused ingress annotations from flyte-core)
