@B what's the command line you are trying?
b
Running on Windows: fluent-bit.exe -c “C:/path/to/config.yaml” -i syslog -p (“tls.key_passwd=“ + $pwd) Where $pwd is a string containing the password I used for the .key file. I have tried both with and without specifying the input plugin. The config file only contains one input plugin (with tls on, and correct paths to crt and key file), and one output plugin with no tls. No matter how I have tried to pass the string, once fluentbit starts it always asks me to input the password anyway

if you do the same in a config file it works ?
(my knowledge on windows cmd is zero)

Okay I think I figured out the issue (or maybe this is how fluentbit is meant to work?). I can’t split the tls config options between the config file and the command line. If I put everything in the config file (leaving the password in plaintext) it works. If I take ALL of the tls options out of the config file and instead pass ALL of the tls options as command line params (password included) it works.
So I was able to get what I wanted, I use command line functions to decrypt a password from a file so it is not in plaintext and pass it to fluentbit on command line. It works as long as I have all of the tls options on the command line
