Wanted to run an idea by you guys. I was thinking about cool ways we could get the community more involved and onboard new users. I was thinking we use a similar model to what coinbase earn does (https://www.coinbase.com/earn).

Have users complete & learn about Ergo for a small reward. Similar premise to (1729.com)

The benefit is that we give people an excuse to participate in our ecosystem while educating them. For ex: One task may be to install a Yoroi wallet. After completing the task, they now have the wallet and have funds in it. We have removed the friction people may have without an incentive like this. They are now free to engage with other dApp's etc.

- a smart-contract to hold an amount of tokens and distribute them to participants

These tokens could be given value by setting them up in an ERG pair in the faucet and crowdfunding via Raffle

I think this is the best way to go. People looking to adopt or new to crypto can actual see the crypto in use. They themselves use it and learn about it. Along the way learning more than just Ergo. Like the Ergo mixer and how privacy/security ties in general. The Oracle pools, mining, building and contributing to Ergo, earning, Nodes. Adoption will never come with buying and holding on an exchange. Most just do that. You ask Solana holders and they have it on exchange. Have no idea aboutSerum and the role it plays. An entire ecosystem they have no clue about.

Coming from the Monero space I see this being a really good way to teach people effectively about the tech. In the Monero space you're more so expected to just know things which makes adoption of a currency difficult.

I've been skimming through the channels today seeing how the Ergo space operates and I think it's going in a good direction. In the Monero space people seem to be a lot more condescending and have much more of an ego. I don't seem to be seeing that here so far. 

As for how your faucet may work. How will the faucet be funded? Will it be done out of pocket, donations, or both? How could you prevent people from abusing the faucet seeing as it is meant for completely new users? I can see somebody using it as a way to get free Ergo on the side by just farming the system. How broad of a scope will this have? Will it be meant exclusively for new users or will it be meant for both new and more experienced users? How will you prove that someone actually went through the process of setting up a wallet say for the first task to earn a reward? I guess that can be done by detecting the user initiating a download then once the wallet is setup inputting the address for the reward.

Ergo doesn't make money off the transaction fees, miners do. The dApp creator would likely set a service fee to support the development like Raffle has done

My goal for ErgoAudio is that subscription can be optional depending on licences, federation rules (in the event of federated sidechains, or light client hosters), and the wishes of the artist:

dont know if that person was me, i had wrote on the idea incubator pretty much the same idea but i have absolutely 0 knowledge about software development, was just and idea in case was good and someone got inspired. Some plattforms, mostly sexual content ones, have problems being banned on pay plattforms (i have a friend who sell sexual content and struggle to get/use the money) this could solve that issue ,but also could be solved if these companies just adopt crypto payments somehow. i think, no matter how this could be made, this make crypto money move and spread to more new people and that is good for all, also can use sigusd coin giving stability to content creators earnings and aporting movement to the "market"

Our tests on painet were successful. It looks like we can release our client, the documentation and deploy the smart contracts on mainnet on thursday.

Idea of ObolFlip is to have a decentralized CoinFlip application on Ergo where users can bet on head or tail.

A single-box SC will handle the state that transforms through betting - cooldown - evaluation - payout.
Only one ObolFlip can run in state betting.
Payout will share all amounts betted between all winners.

For obvious reasons, there will be no central server handling the SC transitions/off chain code. Here comes the connection to the current hackathon theme: We will provide an open-source application with which every user can run the off chain code. Users will earn a share for each transition, this is some kind of mining. Additionally, for every new round of flip new participation tokens will be minted.

Release of obolflip client and deployment of the contract will be on thursday, 10:00 UTC. Everyone can participate on the public beta.

flips take place in rounds, due to block times this was the best way to achieve the functionality. Participants can bet on heads or tails. The round will close (rien ne vas plus) when 100 bets were done or 24 hours passed. when the round closed, it enters a cooldown period of 30 minutes until the winning side is determined in the same way ergo-raffle determines its winner. after that, winning participants can redeem.

Everyone can be the bank, too. 3% of all bets are used as a fee for the bank. to be the bank, you simply activate it in obolflip-client config and let it run to manage the flip rounds. and of course you must be the lucky one to submit to a node finding the block with your management transaction.

not all participants claimed their wins for round 3 and 4 yet. it is not paid out automatically, you need to redeem your participant token!

Was weird.  Round 4 results wasn’t showing when I checked yesterday.  It showed round 5 as current and round 3 as last round.

after betting closes, there is a 30 minute cooldown period to prevent last minute bets when the oracle box is already known. in this period nothing is shown. we need to improve the ui here showing "flipping in progress" or something like that

I think the round based flip is ok.  The 24hrs isn’t bad either because it gives you a chance to play no matter what time of day it is.  If shorter people may miss the flip.  Maybe having an option like a round flip which has a larger pot, or 1 on 1 play for those who don’t want to wait.

If erg is 1.5$ in a week, he can use that 300$ to buy 200 erg, and refund them for 600$. 

If erg is above 3$, he wont refund. Lost 20$. 

The fees in this example might not make sense. I dunno. Also, not sure why the buy price has to higher than marketprice? Makes sense without fees, but with?

Tldr. Buy the option. Sell on dex. Buy again. That is leveraging.

Here is my updated version from the previous flow chart. I made it a lot simpler by leaving out the off-contract escrow contract, modelling the contract as black box and including the advice from a fellow DeCo-student to rethink the ownership of the contract box. This time the box just "lives" on the blockchain, making it not custodial to neither entity's wallet. The tx-steps remain the same and can be looked up in the original above. I distributed the fees for the contract equally to P1 and P2 for fairness.

Ok the main motivation behind Ergrow is to keep pushing my own learning and incorporating ergo into other interesting things I enjoy as possible use cases. So Ergrow is mostly a fun learning experiment 🙂 Ergrow is a platform for interacting with Ergrow Farm(jumei's backyard). I want to play around with idea of tokenized plot/land governance, along with nft data,photos updates as the plants grow. ...soemthing with solar oracles mining erg caring for the earth in an end to end cycle sounds cute. ^^ 

I hope to collect my thoughts into something more coherent soon 😄 should also have a landing page soon~

The owner of that address burns that NFTweet.  What prevents me from going onto the Explorer, looking up the address the NFTweet was at prior to being burned, and then follow the transactions to see where it went? What address it was "burned" to

Guard Script has been tested with these test cases:
1. Change NFT (Nft in profile box is changed to new one, and old nft is sent back to owner)
2. Delete Profile (profile can be deleted)
3. Add Following
4. Remove Following
5. Create Profile
(these test cases are tested against simulated txs that is similar to onchain)

What is the use of the profile box?
To make your profile prettier by using an nft as your profile photo. As the nft is locked in the profile box, you can only have an nft of a profile picture if you own the nft.
Other than that, it gives you the ability to follow others. Note, this does not get you followers. You can identify who someone follow, but you can't identify who follows you. (You can identify if someone follow you if you check their following, but thats about it)

Even if you delete your profile, someone can still follow your tweet.

Maybe if we can get ergonames involved, then we can get their ergonames as a handle 😉

Ergonames can implement a feature in the future, where typing in the handle automatically gets you the profile. dumdumdum

to own your own tweet it comes with a cost. plus its like min fee * 2, which is like less than 1 cent.
