Hello! I am running elementary-data==0.26.0 in production and we are looking into upgrading to dbt V2 but encountering some issues with elementary compatibility. It seems that the pip package for elementary itself depends on dbt V1 (1.12.x) and so it is overriding my dbt V2 install. I see there is a related issue: github.com/elementary-data/elementary/issues/2354 Could someone please put some attention on this? If there is a workaround, I would appreciate whatever support you can provide to figure it out!

hey, I have implemented this as a workaround
Copy code
# dbt v2
RUN pip install --user --no-cache-dir dbt==2.0.6
RUN dbt --version && dbt system install-drivers

# Elementary cannot share site-packages with Fusion pip `dbt` (it requires dbt-core,
# which collides with the Fusion package namespace). Isolate edr in its own env.
RUN python -m venv /home/dbt/.venv-elementary \
    && /home/dbt/.venv-elementary/bin/pip install --no-cache-dir 'elementary-data[bigquery]==0.26.0' \
    && ln -sf /home/dbt/.venv-elementary/bin/edr /home/dbt/.local/bin/edr

Looks like they just fixed this bug in the main branch, so hoping to see an actual release soon github.com/elementary-data/elementary/pull/2360
