Based on the most recent and relevant information in the knowledge sources, there is currently no plan to add official support for DuckDB in the near future. This was explicitly stated by a member of the Elementary team in response to a user inquiry about DuckDB support. However, the team is open to community contributions, and there are ongoing discussions and some community-driven efforts to make Elementary work with DuckDB, but these are not officially supported or scheduled for release at this time [Slack: No plan for DuckDB support](https://slack.com/archives/C02CTC89LAX/p1711032926097449), [Slack: DuckDB not supported, open to contributions](https://slack.com/archives/C02CTC89LAX/p1737106684323449).
