Currently, Elementary does not support generating reports or running analysis for only a subset of models directly through the CLI or configuration. The report and analysis will include all models that participated in your dbt run or test commands. However, there are some workarounds and partial solutions: - You can use dbt's own selectors (such as --select or --exclude) when running dbt commands to limit which models are built or tested, and Elementary will only collect results from those runs. This means if you only run tests on a subset of models, only those will be included in the Elementary analysis and alerts. However, the report UI itself does not currently support filtering to only show a subset of models at report generation time; filtering is only available in the UI after the report is generated [Slack thread](https://slack.com/archives/C02CTC89LAX/p1709716934779489), [Slack thread](https://slack.com/archives/C02CTC89LAX/p1702804355152119). - For alerting, you can use the --select flag with edr monitor to filter alerts by tag, owner, or model, e.g.:

edr monitor --select tag:finance

This will send alerts only for models with the specified tag, but does not affect the content of the full report [Slack thread](https://slack.com/archives/C02CTC89LAX/p1683068624240939). - There is currently no built-in way to exclude specific models or folders from the edr report output itself, and feature requests for this capability have been raised by the community [Slack thread](https://slack.com/archives/C02CTC89LAX/p1709716934779489), [Github Issue](https://github.com/elementary-data/elementary/issues/794). In summary: you can partially control which models are analyzed by controlling which models are included in your dbt runs/tests, and you can filter alerts, but you cannot currently generate a report for only a subset of models directly from Elementary. Filtering in the report UI is available after report generation, but not before.
