Currently, Elementary does not support filtering or excluding specific tests or models from the HTML report via tags, selectors, or similar mechanisms. The report will include all tests and models that participated in your dbt runs, and there is no built-in way to exclude certain tests or models from appearing in the report output. There have been feature requests and user feedback about this limitation, especially regarding the inclusion of package models (like those from dbt_utils or elementary itself) and sensitive tests. The current workaround is to control which tests are run in your dbt invocation, but this does not affect the report content if the tests have already been executed and their results are present in the metadata tables. The only filtering available is by invocation or days-back, which limits the time window but not the specific tests or models shown in the report. There is also a request to add an exclude flag or similar functionality, but as of now, this is not implemented in the product [[ELE-422] Exclude packages models from dashboard](
https://github.com/elementary-data/elementary/issues/695), [Slack thread: Exclude tests from report](
https://slack.com/archives/C02CTC89LAX/p1696506753295779). If you need to limit the report to a specific time window, you can use the
--days-back
parameter (e.g.,
edr report --days-back 7
). For sending alerts, selectors can be used, but this does not affect the HTML report content itself [[Slack: Exclude certain alerts using tags](
https://slack.com/archives/C02CTC89LAX/p1678405212184619)]. In summary: - You cannot currently filter or exclude specific tests/models from the HTML report. - You can limit the report by time window (
--days-back
) or by invocation. - Feature requests for more granular control are open but not yet implemented.
