Data is sent to the

elementary_test_results

table via an on-run-end hook in dbt called

elementary.handle_tests_results

. This hook runs at the end of each dbt invocation (such as

dbt run

,

dbt test

, or

dbt build

) and loads the test results—including native dbt tests, package tests, and Elementary tests—into the

elementary_test_results

incremental model. Each row in this table represents the result of a single test and includes the necessary fields and metadata to generate the Elementary report. This process is automatic as long as the Elementary dbt package is installed and the relevant hooks are not disabled in your configuration [Elementary dbt package models – Run results](https://docs.elementary-data.com/dbt/package-models#run-results).
