Hello community, my name is Artur, I am Senior Computer Scientist and I am following Daft for a few months now. I am using Daft with Azure Blob Storage and I am really, really, really, really, really impressed by the work @jay @Sammy Sidhu and the Daft team has done so far. I can’t wait to have an official Azure Rust SDK so we could use other Azure services from Daft. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Hello, I am great to join the community. I will say: Amazing DataFrame! Very impressive. More analytic engineers would find it attractive if there were full SQL support, similar to SparkSQL or DuckDB.

Hi All, I am Sr SDE in Amazon and am building the data and ML platform for my org. I was searching for a framework that can handle PB level of data with high performance and daft did a great job! I am joining the community to learn how the magic happens here and at the meantime looking for updates about upcoming new features so that we could move more of our Spark workload to Daft and Ray. At the meantime, looking forward to contribute back to the community when possible 😄

Hi everyone! My name is Palliyarai. I am trying to learn about data processing with video/image and found about Ray and Daft. It is easy to work with. One thing I am trying to figure out is that how the Ray project is related to Daft. If i understand this correctly, Daft leverages the distributed abstractions ( Actor, Job etc) provided by Ray to bring up the cluster in distributed setting. Is that correct? Looking forward to learning more from this community and contributing along the way. 🙏

Hello, my name is Danielson and I'm from Madagascar. I'm a data engineer, so I work with different types of data. During the last Delta Lake Communiti webinar, I discovered that Daft is a reference in converting data from a source to Delta Lake. As a result, I'm in the midst of discovering Daft in order to make the most of it and integrate it into my data processing pipelines. Many thanks to the community !

Hey everyone, I am Nikk from Stuttgart in Germany. I recently joined Databricks as a Solutions Architect. Before that I did my PhD Data Science in cooperation with Bosch and spent the last 5 years building a central Data platform with a bigger team. I see big potential in Daft and looking forward to support with it. Currently I am translating my Spark logics of my hobby Lakehouse module into Daft. So a lot of issues and PRs came up already. The speed compared to Spark is amazing though🔥daft party

Hi everyone, I'm Tejas, working as a Data Architect in Belgium. I've started looking at Daft/Ray as a replacement for our Dask distributed data engineering workloads. Daft/Ray looks like a really exciting combo. Also curious how this would run on Anyscale as they provide managed infra for Ray. Happy to be here to share and learn 🙂

Hi everyone, I'm a team lead now but spent about 10-15 years as a data engineer to data architect, based in the UK. My ambitions right now are to create simple isolated data product services using distributed infrastructure, likely containers, in azure and then "register" these in an overarching layer such as unity catalog. I see this last component analogous to an API management layer and not critical in the sense that a source aligned domain should be up and running without the need for anything else... I'm exploring data contracts heavily too and see this as the design of the eventual data product to be fulfilled. This very afternoon I'm going to do some simple experimentation in azure with daft and maybe blobfuse to link containers to some distributed data mesh storage. I've demonstrated to myself here I can make a cost effective scalable reporting infrastructure with streamlit, duckdb and containers, I just want to do the same with the engineering side too of the entire data product lifecycle! A lot to unpack but also a lot of ambition 💪 Nice to meet you all! Datagriff
