I tried fieldPaths: entry_into_service in the main search bar where it says 'Search Datasets, People, & more...' but get no results. I also tried it on the demo datahub (fieldPaths: latitude) but it doesn't show any results their either. I am using 0.10.0.

@brainy-tent-14503 Please help here. @ripe-tailor-61058 Was this previously working?
r
I haven't seen it work but didn't know to try fieldPaths: until today.

The ability to use the old query_string path is behind a flag that didn’t get added to the graphql layer and was only added to restli. We are fixing this oversight. That said structured searches like this are likely to be API only. Will have to look into this and make sure a test exists here for it since they should be searchable here. Something like this query. Note the exact search using double quotes.

@brainy-tent-14503 Thank you. I confirmed I am able to search and get results for schema fields with the rest li api. Is there a way for us to know when this will get fixed for the UI search (e.g. bug tracker)? Thanks.

We’re reviewing options internally at the moment and we’re considering a configuration flag which would allow you to use either the structured queries based on query_string or the recommended simple query_string which is less prone to folks running into errors when they don’t realize what syntax is valid. The API will allow both, its just a matter of which search experience is preferred for what most people see as a general search interface and not a query interface.

@ripe-tailor-61058 What if you search "entry_into_service"
Does that work?
r
@big-carpet-38439 That does not work. I did try quotes around a schema field for another csv and it found that column. So maybe it is something with the one csv.
I can send you both csvs if that helps in troubleshooting.

I have a PR up to re-enable the legacy syntax for search, when merged, it will allow these field queries to be executed by prefixing with
/q
and includes docs update there as well.

thank you
