Hello Everyone! I am trying out the GraphQL API on the public demo instance to query for some data. I use the following table as an example (see attached screenshot) and querying table owners, tags, terms and domain. Although the table has owners, tags, terms and domain I receive empty arrays. I am wondering what I am doing wrong. Thank you!
Copy code
{
       dataset(urn: "urn:li:dataset:(urn:li:dataPlatform:snowflake,long_tail_companions.analytics.active_customer_ltv,PROD)") {
         properties{name},
         editableProperties{description},
         type,
         platform{name},
         ownership{owners{associatedUrn}},
         tags{tags{tag{urn}}},
         glossaryTerms{terms{term{urn}}},
         domain{domain{urn}}
       }
     }
Here is a screenshot of the table I am using in the query:
And this is the query result:
Copy code
{
  "data": {
    "dataset": {
      "properties": {
        "name": "active_customer_ltv"
      },
      "editableProperties": {
        "description": "Test"
      },
      "type": "DATASET",
      "platform": {
        "name": "snowflake"
      },
      "ownership": {
        "owners": []
      },
      "tags": {
        "tags": []
      },
      "glossaryTerms": {
        "terms": []
      },
      "domain": null
    }
  },
  "extensions": {}
}

Hey @chilly-potato-57465, I would highly recommend you look at the Network tab if you’re using Chrome or a Chromium browser and filter for GraphQL requests, where you can see what variables are used
here’s a screenshot of what i’m talking about
let me know if that’s helpful

Hi @echoing-airport-49548, thank you for pointing this out. I did as you suggested but still the same issue:
So I continued investigating further and realized that this dataset is both found in dbt and Snowflake and it looks different in both: This is really confusing to me - that there is a dataset in two sources (dbt & snowflake) and it can be seen in three views/ways - as in dbt. snowflake and merging both. Perhaps I misunderstand something. So the first time when I was querying the dataset I looked at the merged view without knowing this. And I obtained the urn from the share button which gave me the Snowflake urn. When I used the Snowflake URN I got empty values according to the Snowflake view. Now, after I realized that the dataset can be seen in three ways, I used the dbt URN obtained from the dbt 'view' and got the expected results. SO I am wondering is it expected to merge the views and attributes for a dataset from two sources? I am still very confused.

Ahhh so this has to do with our “Siblings” feature, where if we have representations of the same dataset in dbt and elsewhere, we will show these two views
Let me see if I can get back to you with more detailed information!

Ah, I see. I was not aware of this feature. Thank you!
