and i have datasets and everything ....

What datahub version do you have? You are executing this in datahub's graphql API right? (

It is, but can you see the ingestion sources in the UI?? Is it an admin, or just a reader/writer?

when you say you can see platforms in the UI, do you mean on the home page? you should be getting ~53 results from that search since on boot up we ingest the contents of 
data_platforms.json
in 
metadata-service/war/src/main/resources/boot/
- are you able to see these platforms in mysql or in elasticsearch?
