Not sure if this is the correct channel for this question, apologies if not, but I was wondering if there is a way in GraphQL or otherwise to see all changes on a Glossary Term? I am trying to use the API to capture and store history of changes in a local database. Thanks so much!

seems something that might be better suited for Datahub to handle itself hmm. Is this needed for an external system or just because Datahub itself doesn’t support it?
b
Presently timeline API only supports dataset entity, would be great if it can be expanded to other entities.
b
Thanks @little-translator-96552 we have external auditing that requires this metadata to live in our own database.
m
It should be pretty easy to expand timeline API beyond dataset entities. It makes sense to support it.
If someone is willing to contribute this, the core team will be willing to help you understand where changes will be needed
b
I would definitely be willing to give this a shot, how do I hook up with the core team to get some direction?
m
Thanks for offering! I’ll circle back here

Hey @brainy-table-99728! As a starting point, would you be able to join an upcoming office hours? We host them every Tuesday at 9am US PT; if you give me a heads up that you’re joining I can make sure we pull in the right folks to give you technical direction (cc: @big-carpet-38439)

Thanks @little-megabyte-1074 I've added it to my calendar for next week!

Just wondering - do you have any updates on supporting the history of changes for glossary terms? For now I guess to have this you need to keep the yml files on some external repo, right?
l
Hi @fierce-garage-74290! You’re correct - the main way to track versions is through managing Glossary Terms via YAML within a code repo. We don’t have any near-term plans to support additional functionality, but you’re always welcome to raise a feature request so we can understand level of impact/interest from the Community! https://feature-requests.datahubproject.io/
