Hi, are there still plans to enable CSV ingestion via the UI? I can see it in the roadmap - any clues on a delivery date, it is something my data governance colleagues are very keen on to help our business stakeholders engage with DataHub easier.

Hey Eleanor! This certainly makes sense and like you said this is something we’re planning and hoping to do, however I can't put a specific date on it right now. Just to help us understand and prioritize - how do you see yourself and your org using CSV uploader in the Ui? Would this not being there be a blocker for your desired workflows?

Hi, we want to use DataHub to democratize our data in particular pushing responsibility for the business glossary out into the business. These stakeholders are not technically savvy but do want control and the ability to update the glossary and associated datasets via the UI themselves, without this they will lose interest in DataHub keeping it updated. If we can’t find a way of ensuring the business stakeholders can bulk update DataHub, the data will become depreciated almost as soon as the roll out into Prod is complete

This all makes sense! Have you tried using the bulk editor through the UI yet? For example, when you're on a business glossary page you can click the button “Add to Assets” and a modal pops up that allows you to add that term to any data assets you have. You can do similar things in search situations you can click the three dot menu and you can then multi select any asset you want and add owners, tags, terms, domain, and more!

yes and those features are very useful, what would be really helpful is to be able to add descriptions, tags, terms down at the dataset & schema field level, so we are enriching datasets with data dictionary information, as well as the business glossary

what version did the above features on the Search come in with (we are on v0.9.0)?

ohh so you're looking to also bulk add tags, terms, and descriptions to schema fields? that makes sense and I don't think there would be an easy way to do that through the UI currently

yes we want to do that bulk add to schema fields via the UI - is that something you think will be added in the future?

@prehistoric-fireman-61692 How would you imagine the process of a) identifying the fields that need descriptions / tags / terms and b) adding them?

@big-carpet-38439 we identify them through the schema & field names currently. I’d envisage being able to search for the table/view etc that you want to update and then being able to update directly in the UI from their detailed pages.
